Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of the Caring Connections Wigan Community Hub on Orrell Road. It was fantastic to meet staff, volunteers, partners and residents and see first-hand the passion and dedication that has gone into creating this valuable community space. The hub will provide support for people experiencing loneliness and social isolation, those living with dementia, unpaid carers, older people and vulnerable adults. It will also offer community activities, advice, guidance, signposting and opportunities for residents to connect with local services throughout the year. A huge thank you to everyone at Caring Connections for the warm welcome and for all the hard work that went into making the event such a success. Facilities like this play an important role in bringing people together, supporting wellbeing and strengthening our local communities.
